Many students are visual learners but more often than not Language Arts classes offer no visual representations of the lessons or material making students rely on notes. In an effort to try and accommodate varying learning styles one of the methods I will be using is Semantic Feature Analysis.

Semantic Feature Analysis is a technique that visually represents information on a grid or some other connected way that allows students to make connections while comparing and contrasting the material. It also enhances vocabulary skills by placing many of the terms used in class in a graphic context. It also encourages thinking and analyzing of the content in order to place it in relation to the grid. This ties to Georgia Performance Standard: ELA9RC3, ELA9RC4.

This strategy was adapted from Content Area Learning by Mark Conley
